Thoughts on Virginia

So far I am really enjoying Virginia. Here are some of the fun experiences I have had recently:

1> Fireflies in the evening: On an evening drive out near our new home I was amazed by fireflies by the THOUSANDS, literally covering pastures and ponds with their irridescent glow.

2> D.C. - I am just starting to explore DC. I have tried the metro from outside the beltway and am impressed at how easy it is to navigate the city. So far I have checked out the "MALL", the main strip from the Capitol to the Potomac that is covered with monuments.

3> Manassas - There are some really fun restraunts that I have felt obliged to explore over the past few weeks. I love the southern barbecue and also the international cuisine, several excellent finds!

4> Traffic just stinks over here and is very unpredictable. Luckily my commute to work goes against the morning flow, so I won't be caught in gridlock!

5> I am excited about the postmodern church I have discovered near our new home. Check it out at: http://www.dulleschurch.org/
