I have been writing down some of the cute things Kieran says.
Here are some of my favorites:
park-n-walk = parking lot (makes sense, doesn't it!)
Where you are? as in "Mom, where you are?"
I want to hold you = I want you to hold me/pick me up/carry me when I'm tired
*Quick note on the letter *L* L becomes W, most times, unless there are two Ls:
'wexa = Alexa (our dog)
Wucy = Lucy (our other dog)
Weroi = Leroi (our cat)
Siw-dy = silly as in "Mom, that's too siwdy"
When talking about candy, food, trucks, or anything good, it's always better if there are more, or a lot:
A WOT of ums = a lot of them (must be said with emphasis and both hands open wide, fingers stretched to denote many, many things)
One and two = more than one (we've been working on counting a lot)
TWO of ums = then I can have more candy/trucks, right Mom?
Of course, being 2, he is very interested in the following:
by-self = by myself, "No, I want to do it by-self." (always with EMPHASIS, sometimes with kicking and screaming.)
'attend = pretend, "I just crashed 'attend", or "I just cut you open 'attend." Great.
'sploded, got fire on it, all fired up = exploded, also with hands and fingers spreading wide in a rapid motion. Hopefully this will also be 'attend. Although not always. See Jan 1.
motoring = running, the engine is on
statue = the coat hanger (he came up with that one on his own because he didn't know what it was.)
Daddy is really good at telling stories and coming up with something new on the spot, so, Kieran will ask "Tell me a story about_____" and then add whatever outrageous thing he can think of, such as "...cars who are racing and got all fired up!" or "...squirls who are eating nuts and a cars comes and crashes it and it got dead!" That was a lovely story. Or, he'll say "I'm going to tell you a story about_____", start the story with "One day..." and end it with "and that's the end of the story."
