Rooster Dinner

Our temporally challenged Rooster (he crowed all day long) became a lovely crockpot dinner this past weekend. After 24 hours of simmering on low, it was a sumptuous feast! Ah, the evenings are peaceful now, only the shrill scream of a neglected cockatiel to disturb the quiet solitude (can you say shish kabob?)

Okay, this made me laugh out loud. I'm glad you were able to enjoy such a feast. By the way, who was the butcher, and did you have a headless chicken on the loose for a couple minutes? :)

Cheers, Shawn

Well, I was the one who performed the deed. It was quite humane and quick, actually not my favorite part of raising farm animals, but a necessary one.

It is kind of an interesting idea to raise, kill, and cook your own food. I always romanticize that thought though. But did make bit of a 1/2 gasp/ 1/2 laugh when I read this post. Then I laughed at my hubby's comments, which echoed my own thoughts. -S
